Maryland Massage Therapy
Continuing Education Requirements
Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state, and the laws are constantly changing. It's our current understanding that, in Maryland, 24 hours of massage therapy continuing education credits must be earned every 2 years to include:
- 3 hours in professional ethics or jurisprudence
- 3 hours in communicable diseases (to include HIV/AIDS)
- 18 hours in any massage related course
- In addition, a current CPR certification is required.
It is also our understanding that the Maryland Board of Massage will accept our programs to fulfill these continuing education requirements because the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00).
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the Maryland Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the Maryland Board is 410-764-4738 or visit their website at www.mdmassage.org.
Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00). All of our continuing education programs can be used for your National Certification renewal, with the exception of Nerve Mobilization.
You may also use our credits for other organizations you belong to such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
