North Carolina Massage Therapy
Continuing Education Requirements
Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state, and the laws are constantly changing. It's our current understanding that beginning with the 2009 renewal, North Carolina requires 24 massage therapy continuing education hours, to include at least 3 hours of ethics, every 2 years for professional massage license renewal.
Massage therapists may take only 12 of the total 24 continuing education hours required through home study programs. It is our understanding that the North Carolina Board of Massage will accept all of our courses to satisfy the 12-hour home study option.
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the North Carolina Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the North Carolina Board is 919-546-0050 or visit their website at www.bmbt.org.
Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00). All of our continuing education programs can be used for your National Certification renewal, with the exception of Nerve Mobilization.
You may also use our credits for other organizations you belong to such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
