New Mexico Massage Therapy
Continuing Education Requirements
Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state, and the laws are constantly changing. It's our current understanding that, in New Mexico, 16 massage therapy continuing education credits, to include 4 credits in ethics, are required every 2 years for professional re-licensure, prior to the October 31st renewal date.
Massage therapists may take only the 4 credits in ethics through home study programs. It is also our understanding that the New Mexico Board of Massage requires the remaining continuing education hours be earned through live classroom training, although this may change in the future.
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the New Mexico Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the New Mexico Board is 505-476-4870 or visit their website at www.rld.state.nm.us.
Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00). All of our continuing education programs can be used for your National Certification renewal, with the exception of Nerve Mobilization.
You may also use our credits for other organizations you belong to such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
