Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state, and the laws are constantly changing. It's our current understanding that, in West Virgina, 24 massage therapy continuing education credits are required every 2 years, and 3 of these hours must be in ethics. All 24 credits can be earned through home study programs.
Additionally, 1 one of the 3 ethics credits must meet the Standard V requirement of the NCBTMB - Roles and Boundaries; our Ethics: Therapeutic Relationships program meets the Standard V requirement.
It is also our understanding that the West Virginia Board of Massage will accept our programs to fulfill these 24 hours of continuing education because the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00).
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the West Virginia Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the West Virginia Board is 304-558-1060 or visit their website at www.wvmassage.org.
Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00). All of our continuing education programs can be used for your National Certification renewal.
You may also use our credits for other organizations you belong to such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
